Renaissance Reimagined

In Renaissance Reimagined, I explore the relationship between faith, nature, and timeless beauty. Drawing inspiration from Renaissance portraiture, this series reinterprets sacred gestures and compositions through modern photography, set not within ornate interiors but within open landscapes that echo creation itself.

Each portrait features a woman of faith seated in a single antique chair—its carved wood and red upholstery evoking the craftsmanship and reverence of centuries past. The chair serves as a constant, grounding presence amid the ever-changing environments that surround it. It becomes a symbol of stability, contemplation, and spiritual reflection.

The gestures—hands over the heart, eyes lifted toward heaven, or palms open in surrender—mirror Renaissance iconography yet speak to the living faith of women today. Surrounded by light, texture, and the quiet harmony of nature, each image captures a dialogue between the earthly and the divine.

Through this blending of sacred symbolism and creation’s beauty, Renaissance Reimagined reflects a faith centered on Christ and the peace found in His presence.
